What is Barrel Racing?

Barrel racing is a fast-paced, timed event where riders and horses complete a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels. It’s not just for women or a specific breed—anyone with a horse can give it a go. Male and female riders of all ages compete on any horse, using any safe gear.

Never raced before? No worries! Curious about the sport's origins?

Barrel racing began as a rodeo event in the early 20th century and has evolved into one of the most thrilling and accessible speed events in equestrian sport. Riders race against the clock, navigating a precise course with balance, agility, and horsepower.

When Are Events Held?

We host events during the warmer months—because let’s face it, most barrel racers are allergic to the cold!

Check out our [event calendar] to see what’s coming up next.
